ONE LINE DRAWING
Seattle Skyline 36x24
This project was a one line drawing, which means that I didn't pick up my marker while drawing the outline of this picture, it was all done in one line. After drawing the line, I colored it in, but the black outline is all one line. Before drawing this final draft, we practiced, and learned about one line drawings of other things. Then we picked a picture from the internet to use as our one line drawing. I chose a landscape of Seattle. We also learned how to do a blind contour drawing, which is a one line drawing where you don't look at your hand while you are drawing, you just look at the picture of what you are going to draw. It ended up being very messy, but it is to help us develop drawing skills. The point of both of these exercises was to do a quick, kind of messy drawing to develop our drawing skills.
CHIAROSCURO- CHARCOAL DRAWING
Cat 12 X 18
For this project, we created drawings with charcoal, so the drawing had to be black and white. I chose to draw a cat because cats are my favorite animal, and my favorite thing to draw. I liked drawing with charcoal, but it was hard, especially because we didn't use pencil to outline first. I really liked blending the charcoal, that was my favorite part about the project.
Cat Paw Zentangle 12 X 18
For this drawing, I used sharpie and markers on paper. I had three large cat paws, and I did the little zentangle designs in them. When I was done, it looked really bland, so I added three small cat paws and did the zentangles in them. It still looked too simple to me, so I added some little cat head shapes, and just colored them black. I really liked this project, because I was working with shapes, which was a lot easier for me than the other drawings we did this semester.
